Inspirational Report #27

1. I Searched 100 Abandoned Buildings Across America

Section titled “1. I Searched 100 Abandoned Buildings Across America”

For this video, hit the road and stop in every abandoned site you find from Pittsburgh to Miami, ranging from schools and factories to houses and motels. Take a look at what was left behind these places, from furniture to photos or perhaps valuable items! Will you find treasures, or just what’s left of the past?

Hook: “Today, I’m going to explore 100 abandoned buildings across America to see what people really leave behind when they disappear.”

2. I Investigated America’s First Gold Rush Town

Section titled “2. I Investigated America’s First Gold Rush Town”

Taking in consideration your trip, for this idea I thought you could stop by Dahlonega, in Georgia, a small town just one hour away from Atlanta. This town was the heart of the gold rush years before California. The goal is to explore the town, the outskirts, the old gold mines and see if there is any gold left behind. Here’s some info about Dahlonega, and here’s a little tour video of the town.

Hook: “Everybody thinks all America’s gold was in California, but actually, it was first found here. And today, we’re gonna check if there’s an left behind.”

3. I Ate at 100 Diners To Find The Best Coffee

Section titled “3. I Ate at 100 Diners To Find The Best Coffee”

Since you’ll be on a road trip, for this video I thought you could stop at 100 different diners, all the way from Pittsburg to Miami, to find who has the best coffee. This video is about exploring and discovering America through diners of all kinds (new, old, small, big, etc), and can be adapted to other formats (perhaps you want to find the best pancakes instead of coffee). Talking to locals and bonding with food is a great way to learn about secrets in these towns, which can lead to finding treasures.

Hook: “Today, my friends and I are going on a road trip across America, top to bottom. But we’ll definitely need some good coffee to keep us up as we drive. That’s why we’re going to hit 100 different diners to see who has the best pour.”

4. I Went Magnet Hunting Until I Made $100

Section titled “4. I Went Magnet Hunting Until I Made $100”

This idea is perfect to film at the end of your road trip as you near the beaches of Florida. Using your metal detector and magnets, hit the sand and the water to see what tourists drop by accident. The apporach to this idea is a bit different to the others, as the goal is to make 100 dollars just by picking things left behind, which can be accomplished pretty easily if you’re lucky and lurk around the right beaches.

Hook: “Can I make $100 just by walking around the beaches of Miami? I’m at the end of my road trip but we ran out of money to get back, so I’ll try to use my magnet detectors to find jewelry, phones and other valuables lost in Miami.”

5. I Went Dumpster Diving Across 100 Towns

Section titled “5. I Went Dumpster Diving Across 100 Towns”

This idea is kind of similar to the diner and abandoned buildings idea, with the goal being investigate what Americans throw away, and if you can find anything valuable or not. The key is to see how much an activity such as dumpster diving can change depending on your location, and to show what Americans throw away or not. Will you find any treasures? Will treasures change depending on where you dive? Which city will get you the biggest treasure?

Hook: “The average American throws roughly 4.9 pounds of trash every day, so today, I’m going on a mission to see what are we leaving behind and why. Can we find a treasure where others just see trash?“

6. I Looked Through 100 Lost And Found Boxes

Section titled “6. I Looked Through 100 Lost And Found Boxes”

A typical thing many people do while on a road trip is to stop at museums, gas stations, motels and other tourist attractions, often leaving behind things they forgot about. That’s why, for this video, I thought you could take a look at 100 of these lost and found boxes at different places and see what you can find. Will you find anything cool or unique? Can you, perhaps, locate one of the owners of these lost items? Maybe you find something you lost yourself in the past! And you can definitely throw in an Airtag on one of these boxes to see if lost and found items always remain in the same place or if the items end up in thrift shops or other sites.

Hook: “Today, my friends and I are going to explore 100 different lost and found boxes and rooms to see if we can spot any treasures people forgot on their road trips.”

7. How Much Gold Is Hiding In Plain Sight?

Section titled “7. How Much Gold Is Hiding In Plain Sight?”

For this short, acquire a gold detector machine or a acid gold test and hit the streets to see if there’s gold in common everyday stuff, from your grandma’s house to the thrift store to the lost and found boxes.

Hook: “In the past, I’ve found gold and gemstones inside electronics and on the sidewalks, but today I want to see in what other common places I can find treasure”

8. I Went On A Quest To Find The Rarest Pizza in New York

Section titled “8. I Went On A Quest To Find The Rarest Pizza in New York”

Can you find a slice of pizza with 100 pepperonis on it? Or a pizza that’s entirely blue? For this video, go on a hunt for food and try to find the weirdest, most insane pizzas you can eat! (completed with a Ninja Turtle outfit, of course!). This idea can be filmed indoors, just by purchasing and taste testing pizzas, and then switch to outdoors as the stakes to find the best slice rise.

Hook: “The other day, my friend came over to visit me, and he said he wanted the best slice of New York pizza. That’s why we hit the streets to try and find the coolest pizza in the city”

9. Are My Youtube Buttons Actually Made of Silver and Gold?

Section titled “9. Are My Youtube Buttons Actually Made of Silver and Gold?”

For this short, run different experiments on your Youtube Creator Awards to see if they’re made of what they claim off to be (spoiler alert, they’re not). Try different acid experiment, metal detector and talk to experts to determine if they’re real or not. Here’s a video of a dude who did this experiment years ago with the old buttons.

Hook: “The other day I was cleaning my studio when I Saw my Youtube Buttons and wondered if they’re as valuable as real silver and gold I found…”
