Inspirational Report #28

For this video, the goal is to investigate one of the strangest pieces of American currency history: the Santa Claus U.S. bill. Using historical records, museum archives, collectors, and real locations where these bills circulated, you’ll try to find one for yourself. I know it’s january, but the production, filming and research for this video might take a while, so I’m sure it’ll be done by next Christmas. Besides, hunting this bill right after the holiday season will be easier as there’ll be less people interested on it.

Hook: “Most people think this is a myth, but Santa Claus really appeared on U.S. currency. Today, I’m trying to track down a bill that almost nobody believes ever existed.”

2. I Mined 100 Crystal Sites Until I Found Emeralds

Section titled “2. I Mined 100 Crystal Sites Until I Found Emeralds”

For this video, visit 100 real crystal-bearing locations across your route from Pittsburgh to Miami and dig up a total of 100 crystals. The goal isn’t to randomly dig, but to follow real information about where crystals form and gradually increase the odds of finding something rare. The stakes of the video will increase as you collect more and more crystals, since you’ll only have room to take 100 with you along your road trip.

Hook: “Today, I’m going on a road trip from Pittsburgh all the way to Miami Beach, and I’ll mine 100 real crystal sites along the way to see if I can struck emeralds or even crazier gemstones.”

For this video, pan for gold in 100 rivers across multiple states, using the same method every time. The goal is to answer a simple question people have wondered for generations: is there still gold left in America’s rivers, or is it all gone?

Hook: “For hundreds of years, people have searched these rivers for gold. Today, I’m checking 100 of them to see if any of it is still left.”

4. Is Magnet Fishing Still Worth It in 2026?

Section titled “4. Is Magnet Fishing Still Worth It in 2026?”

This video investigates whether magnet fishing is still worth the hassle in 2026. For this, you’ll go magnet fishing across cities, suburbs, and small towns in your road trip, comparing what’s hidden in the water in different places. Is this hobby lucrative? Will you find any valuable treasures or just trash? This idea can be good to pair up with a sponsor/partner to bring awareness and help clean these bodies of water.

Hook: “People used to find incredible things in rivers, ponds, lakes and sewers, myself included… but that was years ago. Today, I’m finding out if dumpster diving is still worth it in 2026.”

Inspired by this article, for this video I thought you could try to find the Jackalope, a mythical creature half jackrabbit, half antelope. For this, travel through regions where Jackalope stories originated, talk to locals, explore museums, look around forests and woods, and investigate how the myth started, spread, and whether it was ever based on something real. Perhaps you won’t find it, but your hunt will definitely lead to some treasures.

Hook: “Some people say the Jackalope is just a joke. But this legend didn’t come from nowhere, and today, I’m trying to find out if this creature actually exists.”

This short is perfect to be filmed simultaneously with ideas #3 and #4. For this short, for every body of water you encounter (either rivers or other kinds, like lakes) give it a taste with the lifestraw! It’ll definitely get interesting as you reach northern Florida and you drink water from alligator-infested ponds.

Hook: “Today, my friends and I are going on a road trip from Pittsburgh to Miami, but we forgot to bring water. Lucky for me, I have my Lifestraw with me!”

7. I Used a Metal Detector in 100 Playgrounds

Section titled “7. I Used a Metal Detector in 100 Playgrounds”

This was one of the very first ideas we gave you in our Inspirational Reports and you totally loved. That’s why, for this short, I thought you could do a continuation of the concept, searching 100 playgrounds on your road trip. Will you find the same stuff? Which playground has the most amount of treasures? Or which one has the best slide?

Hook: “Last week, I went magnet hunting on my local playground, and found all sorts of odd things. That’s why I thought to take it to the next level and search 100 playgrounds from Pittsburgh to Miami.”

8. I Found a Phone at a Gas Station, Then Found the Owner

Section titled “8. I Found a Phone at a Gas Station, Then Found the Owner”

This is a repeated format you can totally apply to your road trip content! For this short, you’ll stop at a gas station during your road trip, and you’ll find a forgotten phone. Using all your detective skills, you’ll find the owner of the phone. Where were these people heading towards? And how will they thank you for bringing their phone back?

Hook: “Today, I was driving down the road with my friends when we stopped at a gas station and noticed someone left their phone behind.”

9. I Tried Racing Mother Nature — Can I Beat a River?

Section titled “9. I Tried Racing Mother Nature — Can I Beat a River?”

For this video, throw an airtag at the chattahoochee river and try to get to the end of the river before the airtag does. Can you travel faster than nature?

Hook: “The other day, we were filming a video in the chattahoochee river when I accidentally dropped my wallet. Quickly, I threw an airtag into the water to track down where the river ends and get there before anyone could steal my wallet!”
