Inspirational Report #29

Long Format Videos (To film across America / Overseas)

Section titled “Long Format Videos (To film across America / Overseas)”

For this video, I thought you could visit the only public diamond mine in the world: Crater of Diamonds State Park, in Arkansas. Using the same tools available to any visitor, try to recover some diamonds yourself. Along the way, interview park rangers and other miners to understand how often people actually find diamonds, and whether this place is a genuine opportunity or just a tourist trap.

Hook: “This is the only place on Earth where anyone can legally mine for real diamonds. Today, I’m finding out if there’s actually any left.”

2. I Investigated the Largest Living Thing in the World

Section titled “2. I Investigated the Largest Living Thing in the World”

For this video, dive into the history of Pando, a massive quaking aspen organism in Utah that’s considered the largest living thing on Earth by mass. Instead of a single tree, Pando is a genetically identical forest connected by one root system. Visit the site, explore the area and it’s crazy history, and talk to scientists and conservationists about the threats it’s currently facing, and whether something this large can actually disappear. This video can be a great way to donate money or resources to protect Pando and other natural resources in America.

Hook: “This looks like a normal forest, but what you’re seeing is actually the largest living organism on the planet. Today, I’m on a quest to find the largest living thing on the planet, the Pando tree.”

3. I Tried to Find the Secret Location of the Tallest Tree on Earth

Section titled “3. I Tried to Find the Secret Location of the Tallest Tree on Earth”

Simila to the last idea, for this video, attempt to track down Hyperion, the tallest known tree in the world. Its exact location has been deliberately kept secret to protect it from damage (so, of course, the “search” will have to be faked), but using public clues, satellite imagery, hiking routes, and expert interviews, you can investigate how close someone can legally get to it, finding strange and unique treasures along the way.

Hook: “The tallest tree on Earth exists… but no one is supposed to know where it is. Today, I’m gonna try to find it.”

4. I Went Hunting for the Real Golden Fleece

Section titled “4. I Went Hunting for the Real Golden Fleece”

Apparently, the classic greek myth of the Golden Fleece was inspired by a real ancient gold-mining technique, meaning a golden fleece might be real. This is why I thought that, for this video, you could travel through regions linked to the legend, with the goal to recreate this ancient gold mining method, test it in real conditions, and see if this famous myth was actually based on science.

Hook: “One of the most famous myths in history might actually be real, and today I’m travelling all the way to ancient Greece to prove it.”

Long Format Videos (To film at home in New York or in NYC)

5. I Went Hunting for Lost Wedding Rings in Niagara Falls

Section titled “5. I Went Hunting for Lost Wedding Rings in Niagara Falls”

Niagara Falls attracts millions of visitors every year, and it’s been known as a very popular honeymoon destination since the 1800’s. That’s why, in this video, I thought you could investigate how many wedding rings and valuables have been lost in and around the falls, talk to locals and experts, and attempt to recover some of them with different methods. What will you find burried in the sand, or at the bottom of the water?

Hook: “Today, I’m going on a mission to find a wedding ring for my best friend to propose. But since we don’t have any money, we’re going to try and find one in the Niagara Falls.”

Acording to this article, Australian ants take precious metals, like gold, into their nests. Which means that, by following the ant trails, you can uncover hidden sources of gold and other metals and treasure. Will American ants do the same thing? Find out!

Hook: “The other day, I was hiking through the woods when I spotted something shiny on the ground. It was an ant, carrying the smallest speck of gold I’d ever seen. So, I decided to follow it”

7. I Held a Fortnite Competition Inside a Secret NYC Tunnel

Section titled “7. I Held a Fortnite Competition Inside a Secret NYC Tunnel”

This idea is hevaily inspired in this classic video of yours. Take this idea to the next level by exploring New York City’s hidden underground tunnel systems (and don’t forget the Ninja Turtle costume, of course). For this video, explore these abandoned tunnels, taking a look at the graffitis on the walls and any forgotten treasures you might find. The goal? Find the perfect spot to host a Fortnite competition in the ultimate gaming “room”.

There’s a lot of cool sources that talk about these underground tunnels (one, two, three, four, five)

Hook: “A couple months ago, my friends and I built a secret gaming room underground, but we wanted to host a Fortnite competition and we knew we needed far more space. So, we packed our bags and traveled to New York City”

For this video, along with the help of your father, attempt to build animal shelters at three different budgets: $0, $50, and $100. The goal is to protect local wildlife and stray cats/dogs from the cold weather and bring them a safe space to wait for spring. The shelters can be built indoors in your studio and then positioned outside.

Hook: “Today, I was at home enjoying being warm and cozy, but then I thought about all the animals who didn’t have a place to go.”

For this video, challenge your friends into a Claw Quest themed scavanger hunt, handing them a list of items they must find, including popular items from previous videos, unique things, odd treasures and weird things just to prank them. Whoever finds all the items and comes to you first, will win a special prize! (this video can totally be an AD for a sponsor of your choosing, handing out their products as the prize for the scavanger hunt and then announcing a giveaway for subscribers).

Hook: “Today, I decided to put my friendships to the test to determine which of my friends is the best detective and treasure hunter.”
