Inspirational Report #35
1. I Tracked a “Ghost Signal” to a Sunken Airplane
Section titled “1. I Tracked a “Ghost Signal” to a Sunken Airplane”South Florida has several artificial reefs made of old planes and ships. For this short, drop an AirTag inside a waterproof buoy and let it drift over a known wreck site (like the Spirit of Miami plane wreck). Then, follow the signal and explore the remains of the airplane (or whatever you find) and share the findings.
Hook: “There’s a plane sitting at the bottom of the ocean just 500 yards from the Miami beach… and I just got a signal from inside the cockpit.”
2. I “X-Rayed” the Sand at a $10,000-a-Night Hotel
Section titled “2. I “X-Rayed” the Sand at a $10,000-a-Night Hotel”The beaches in front of hotels like the Faena or South Beach’s “Millionaire’s Row” are groomed every morning by tractors. So, for this video, dress up and hit the beach before the tractors do and explore the area, using a “special” metal detector with X-Ray tech that can see through the deep sand where guests lose high-end jewelry and designer glasses. The stakes come from finding something before the tractors show up and kick you out of the scene…
Hook: “Today, I woke up before sunrise to test out an x-ray metal detector in Miami’s richest beaches…“
3. I Investigated the “Sunken City” of Biscayne
Section titled “3. I Investigated the “Sunken City” of Biscayne”In shallow parts of the bay, there are old pilings and ruins of Stiltsville that can be seen on the water. So, for this short, hop on a boat and head over to these ruins to explore them! The mission is to find a “household item” that has been underwater for decades.
Hook: “The other day I was sun tanning at the beach when I spotted some weird structures on the water. So, I hopped on a boat and headed there to explore…“
4. I Found an “Underwater Graveyard” of Lost Bicycles
Section titled “4. I Found an “Underwater Graveyard” of Lost Bicycles”In the canals of Fort Lauderdale near the rental shops, hundreds of bikes have been pushed into the water over the years. For this short, use magnets and other tools to fish out any bikes. The goal is to see if any are still functional to bike or if you can find a “treasure” hidden in a bike basket that’s been submerged for a decade.
Hook: “Today I wanted to bike around Fort Lauderdale, but I didn’t have a bike with me, so I headed to the canal to try and fish one out…“
5. I Built a $100 “Submarine” To Explore the Miami River
Section titled “5. I Built a $100 “Submarine” To Explore the Miami River”The Miami River is too murky to swim, but it’s perfect for a discovery mission. So, for this short, use a budget of 100 USD to create a submarine where a camera will replace your eyes. Once it’s done, lower it into the deep shipping channel to see the massive propellers of cargo ships and “sunken” debris that has been there since the 1980s. Bonus points if you add claws like a claw machine to catch stuff!
Hook: “Today, I’m going to build a submarine for less than 100 dollars because I want to explore the Miami River, but it’s too dirty to swim on it.”
6. I Explored 100 Beaches in Miami Until I Found The Largest Shark Tooth
Section titled “6. I Explored 100 Beaches in Miami Until I Found The Largest Shark Tooth”Pretty self explanatory! For this short, hit 100 different beaches along the coast of Miami and Fort Lauderdale, with the goal of finding the biggest shark tooth you can! The stakes will be added by the time limit as the sun sets and the size of your findings.
Hook: “Today, I’m going to explore one hundred different beaches, because I promised my grandma I’ll bring her the largest shark tooth I could find…“
7. I “Mined” an Abandoned 1920s Speakeasy Site
Section titled “7. I “Mined” an Abandoned 1920s Speakeasy Site”For this short, dive into the early history of Miami and find a historic/abandoned site near the water. The goal is to find “evidence” of a secret speakeasy run during the 1920s on that building: old glass medicine bottles, brass coins, old jewelry, etc. Frame the discovery as “finding a hidden stash from 100 years ago.”
Hook: “Today, I was exploring some abandoned buildings near Miami when I came across a lot of strange objects…“
8. I Followed an AirTag Into a “Ghost Town” in the Glades
Section titled “8. I Followed an AirTag Into a “Ghost Town” in the Glades”There are several abandoned “camps” and small towns in the Everglades that were reclaimed by nature. So, for this short, follow the same logic as idea #1 from this report, but drop the AirTag on the Everglades to let it guide you into one of these ghost towns. The mission is to “discover” a rusted tractor or an abandoned cabin that hasn’t been touched in 40 years.
Hook: “I heard there’s plenty of odd msyteries hiding in the florida Everglades, so I used an AirTag to find them…“
9. I Built a Spa For Iguanas
Section titled “9. I Built a Spa For Iguanas”For this short, work in a budget (using trash and leftover food) to build a VIP experience for the wild iguanas of Miami, so they too can enjoy the spring. The goal is to create a “refugee” spot where they can hang out and eat alone.
Hook: “Today, I’m gonna build a spa for the iguanas of Miami so they too can chill out and enjoy their holiday at the beach, and hopefully stop stealing food from the tourists…”
| Rank | Idea | TAM | View Potential | Universality | Overall Scale Score | Why This Ranks Here |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 🥇 1 | I Built a Spa For Iguanas | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 | 9.9 | Animals + building something for them = extremely viral format. Wholesome, funny, and instantly understandable globally. Zero context needed. |
| 🥈 2 | I Built a $100 “Submarine” To Explore the Miami River | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 | 9.8 | “Build something cheap to explore the unknown” is universally appealing. Strong curiosity (“what’s down there?”) + invention angle = massive scale. |
| 🥉 3 | I Tracked a “Ghost Signal” to a Sunken Airplane | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 | 🔥🔥🔥🔥 | 9.6 | AirTag + mystery signal + plane wreck = extremely strong hook. Slightly less universal due to setup, but still very high curiosity. |
| 4 | I “X-Rayed” the Sand at a $10,000-a-Night Hotel | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 | 🔥🔥🔥 | 9.3 | “Rich people lost valuables” is highly clickable. Slight drop in universality due to “x-ray detector” concept needing explanation. |
| 5 | I Followed an AirTag Into a “Ghost Town” in the Glades | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 | 🔥🔥🔥🔥 | 🔥🔥🔥🔥 | 9.1 | AirTag mechanic + abandoned town = strong curiosity. Slightly less instant clarity than top 3 but still highly scalable. |
